*US citizen only* *Duration:18 months contract* *Role Description:* The developer in this role will design, develop, and debug Unix, .NET, C++ code. This developer should have 3+ years experience developing and maintaining web-based applications. Must be a team player, be able to meet tight deadlines and work additional hours when necessary *Responsibilities (Deliverables):* • Ensure application design and code meets user interface standards (windows and reports) • Participate in design; update and develop design documentation as needed. • Communicate application standards to developers and offshore resources • Work with designated product tools (Harvest, etc.) and follow established development guidelines and best practices to maintain project deliverables • Assist developers with technical issues • Assist with analysis as required • Design and code; produce efficient, error-free programs • Develop unit test plans, conduct unit testing • Prepare applicable system documentation and user documentation • Report project status to Project Managers, Tech Oversight • Assist in and/or create Release notes to migrate code through various environments • Conduct design walkthroughs, code walkthroughs as required • Identify tasks and work effort estimates and provide to tech oversight and PM’s to assist in creation of project plan • Provide project manager with ongoing assessment of risk and escalate issues as appropriate *Required Skillset:* • Must have 3 + years development experience in *UNIX,.NET, and C++* • Must have some experience with *Classic ASP / ASP.net. VB.net* • Must be extremely proficient in* SQL* • Must have at least three years of experience working with *Oracle databases and DB2 databases*. • Must be able to understand moderately complex business specifications and publish a technical design • Must have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills *Business Knowledge Needed:* - Definite plus if the candidate has understanding of the financial industry, especially securities brokerage.
