. We are looking for a hands‐on consultant who has real world experience
migrating Sun Solaris based environments to Red Hat Linux on AMD and Intel
based servers.
*Responsibilities *
Hands‐on Linux and Solaris administrator for a Sun
Solaris to Red Hat Linux migration project
Clear documentation of procedures
Provide high availability for all managed servers
and components
*Education/Experience *
Degree requirements – BS – course of study (e.g.
Computer science, engineering)
This candidate should have 5+ years experience as a
UNIX (Linux and Solaris) administrator
Work experience within the financial sector
Must be 100% hands‐on, this is not a management role
*Required Skills: *
• In depth working knowledge of Solaris and Linux
o Sun Solaris 2.8, 2.9 and 10
o Red Hat Linux 3, 4 and 5
• Documentation of all work
• Solaris/Linux shell scripting (Bash and Korn)
• Experience configuring and supporting Apache and Tomcat
• Experience supporting and troubleshooting Java based applications
• Visio and general documentation skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
