Business Objects Lead Responsibilities * Design and development / maintenance of Business Objects Universe(s) and Web Intelligence Documents. * Design and develop Data Integrator ETL jobs. * Understand and translate business requirements into technical design specifications following Business Objects best practices. * Assist in establishing efficient Data Integration and Information Delivery architecture utilizing Business Objects toolset. * Work will include data integration planning, integration analysis across multiple data sources, integration analysis across all departments to included both global system design and detailed program design for complex processes or interfaces, review of database design of new data structures, and suggested modifications to existing data structures. * Assist in set up / installation of Business Objects Data Services / Universe / Web Intelligence. * Assist in development of User Training materials. * Lead technical staff members to develop common standards and procedures for ETL / Universe / WebI design and programming, component and system optimization and tuning to ensure efficient data integration and information delivery. Qualifications * Degree in Computer Science, MIS, engineering, business administration or related field from an accredited college or university. * Experienced with Data Warehouse architecture and implementation methodologies. * Extensive experience in application architecture, design, and development using Business Objects - Data Integrator, Universe Designer, Web Intelligence. * 4 + years of design and development experience using Business Objects XI - Data Services, Universe Designer, and Web Intelligence with at least 2 years of experience with BO XI R3. * 4 + years of experience developing ETL architecture using BO Data Integrator / Data Services. * Experienced in estimating- complexity, time and effort, planning and worked closely with PMO to successfully meet requirements and timelines. * Experience in leading a small team of BO developers. * Proven leadership ability, capable of keeping a team focused on effective problem solving and meeting commitments in an organized manner. * Thorough understanding of RDBMS concepts and well versed with SQL. * Well versed with BO Data Services / BO Edge Professional administration and implementation. * Candidate must be able to articulate strategy and direction for technology and architecture throughout the organization to support information delivery. * Ability to lead a group through an architectural development process and collaborate with application development teams, architects and other members of the software development team. * Extremely strong fundamentals and analytical abilities. * 4+ years with working knowledge of software releases, versioning, change control and source control systems. * Good communications skills (both oral and written) and analytical skills. Preferred Qualifications: * 2+ years of experience working with SQL Server 2008. * Experienced in migrating content from BO XI R2 to BO XI R3. * Experienced in working with XML Schemas. * 8 years of increasingly responsible work experience in an Information Technology setting, working on complex systems and/or large scale and complex data integration projects, of which four (4) years were involved in designing and building complex ETL interfaces between disparate data sources and data warehouse. * Exposure to Property & Casualty insurance.
