Job Title: Windows Engineer Location: San Diego, CA
Duration: 6 months This position is for a Systems Engineer/Operator for the Stability team. As a Stability team engineer/operator you are responsible for providing overall incident operational support for the IT infrastructure systems and applications including but not limited to day to day and strategic support for LPL's data centers and labs. § *Skills* o Strong customer service skills o Strong troubleshooting skills o Demonstrate strong Windows System Administration skills o Scripting ability is a plus o Strong System Administration/Engineering skills o Background and experience supporting the following technologies o Microsoft Windows Server o Microsoft SQL o Microsoft IIS o IBM AIX o Red Hat Linux o Networking technologies o Custom applications § *Expectations* o Act as level two operational incident support for all production systems/applications. o Provide training for junior staff on existing and new technologies o Provide operational support for all incidents by logging, tracking and reporting on incidents and their status o Test and validate monitors are producing accurate results o Provide documentation of common problems and resolution o Demonstrate the ability to resolve problems quickly, quickly learn new skills and drive results. o Excellent follow-through. Ensure that you are accountable for and effectively executing day-to-day and strategic responsibilities o Continuously assess and improve processes within your scope, including the impact on upstream and downstream groups, and recommend improvements in processes you and the team interact with o Demonstrate an entrepreneurial perspective (envisioning new and innovative ideas and approaches and taking them to fruition) o Must work well in a team oriented environment.
