Role: Jr. Performance Engineer

*Washington, DC *

*12 months contract*

Team Dynamic: Individual contributor, no management of matrixed staff,
collaborate with AppDev, technicians and some managers



*Note: *This is an entry level Performance tester/engineer position;
develops Performance test plans, test cases/scripts, and test case
automation. Good analytical skills required for analyzing technical
documentation, performance test results and preparing multiple internal and
external Systems Performance deliverables. IT/software
development/engineering education is a definite plus.



*Minimum Qualifications:*

Required:

·         Ability to work in a team environment

·         Intermediate personal computer and MS Office Suite skills

·         Ability and desire to learn and advance

·         Excellent oral and written communication skills


Required Skills/Qualifications:

·         Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, or Engineering
or equivalent work experience required.

·         *# 1 must have: *Strong analytical skills, ability to synthesize
and distill technical documents and data, analyze performance results, and
create formal technical reports

·         *# 2 must have: *Excellent oral and written communications
required for Project/Task coordination; an ability to track and follow upon
tasks in a way that establishes rapport, persuades others, and gains
collaboration.

·         *Three to four years* of experience in an IT environment
(mainframe, infrastructure, Web/Java)

·         Broad knowledge of Software development lifecycle, Software
engineering principles, programming skills in at least one of the
following: C, C++, VB, HTML, Java, Shell scripting.

·         Knowledge of object oriented development methodology, XML objects
and SQL statements

·         Ability to distill volumes of data, analyze performance results,
and diagnose performance and capacity problems.

·         Excellent analytical skills in order to effectively analyze
broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques,
and evaluation criteria to obtain the desired results.

·         Excellent knowledge of MS Office 2010 tool set – MS Word, MS
Excel, MS Project, MS Visio and MS PowerPoint.

·         Solid teamwork and interpersonal skills, with the ability to
communicate and persuade customers, employees, and management at all levels
and thrive in a cross-functional environment.

·         Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks and work
under pressure



*Preferred:  *

·         Familiarity with formal software development life cycle
processes, deliverable generation, and reviews is a plus

·         Technical experience in one or more of the following is highly
desirable but not required : C, Ksh Bash Python Perl or Java/javascript

·         Technical experience in one or more of the following is highly
desirable:  HP LoadRunner, SiteScope, Performance Center and Wily Introscope

·         Knowledge of FEPOC systems, process and technology

·         Basic Statistical programming

·         Performance Test automation experience with both front-end
applications and back-end systems, experience developing your own tools to
facilitate performance testing is a major plus

·         Knowledge of Health Insurance highly preferred
