*Role: Technical Data Analyst*

*Location: Buffalo, NY*

*Candidates must be Green Card or US Citizens*

*Duration : 6-12 months*



*Job details-*


   - Perform explorative data analysis to assess the existence and strength
   of controls on critical data elements and assess risks in the data.
   - Should be comfortable handling extremely large data-sets in the tune
   8-10 GB (requirements include slicing, transforming data)
   - Write test scripts based on the understanding of the process,
   reviewing the BRD (Business Requirement Diagrams), FRD (Functional
   Requirement Diagrams), codes and after client meetings to identify the gaps
   in the process and the data.
   - Translate those test cases into test steps by Writing SQL scripts and
   execute data tests assigned utilizing office tools such as excel and access
   as well as SAS.
   - Assess the design of EUCs (End User Controls) against best practices
   and firm mandates.
   - Evaluate the existence and strength of controls expected for each EUC.
   - Assess existence and reasonableness of each functional area’s
   validation and reconciliation procedures for each control point in the data
   transfer/transformation    process from source to target.
   - Document test plans and test results, e.g., LOB controls, data flows
   diagrams, etc.
   - Obtain requested raw data files from servers and via FTP through
   trillium server FTP    site or direct server connections such as ODBC
   clients



*Required-*


   - Built or audited large complex data sets - understand risk levels
   within data flows and how to assess these risks
   - Experience with large amounts of data and building large data flows in
   complex environment
   - Building large data warehouses so they understand controls needed and
   issues that arise (operational experience and/or development experience)
   NOTE: will be asked to understand the process and map the process from
   beginning to end – data models and risks of where system will be losing
   data integrity
   - Strong SQL Scripting, writing Queries, Excel/Access - Macro's, Pivot
   Tables, VBscript
   - Need understanding of:  ETL platforms such as Informatica
   - MUST have understanding of large data intensive projects and
   Experience in Implementation of information technology projects including
   UAT testing phase
   - Must have experience Writing some ETL (Informatica preferred)
   development & programming and testing and stored procedures (pulling data
   from a different system), MS Access, Excel – strong Data analysis (SAS is a
   plus PC and/or Unix)
   - Test ETL Processes and writing stored procedures
   - Need experience in database environment – they will walk into
   different clients and request data and need to be able to speak their
   language and convert data within SQL, Access, and/or Excel, look into
   queries and look into code…must be able to learn and adapt in different
   environments



*Must have familiarity with ONE of the following QUERY TOOLS:*


*SAS PC/Unix – Plus and Preferred

*Trillium

*Quest Software Toad

*Embarcadero RapidSQL

*DB Artisan

*IBM TOOL – Cognos Insight (Going to this - brand new)

*NOTE:*  will not use these on regular basis

*Finance/Risk environment experience - PLUS
