*Role: SQL Automation QA (needs specific investment banking experience.)* *Duration: Long Term Contract* *Location: NYC, NY* Top 5-10 technical skills required for the job: • Strong analytical / automation skills • Worked in data conversion validation testing. • Strong SQL query. • Working knowledge of Unix/AIX. • Experience with Oracle 10 G or higher. • Strong working knowledge of Excel and Word. • Knowledge of MQ • Knowledge of Websphere • Knowledge of web and non-web application architecture. Required Skills: • 5 to 10 years of relevant work experience testing mission critical applications. • Grey box testing experience. • Working knowledge of Automated Test and Test Management Tools (e.g. HP ALM). Critical Skills: • Ability to work on multiple assignments simultaneously and produce high quality products • Strong problem solving and analytical skills demonstrated by the ability to assimilate new information, understand complex topics and arrive at sound analysis and judgment • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Self-Motivated Preferred Skills: • Experience testing Waterfall / Agile Development Projects • Test management capabilities a plus • Experience testing mission critical Financial Applications • Keeps abreast of current technology trends • Familiar with application development best practices • Well-versed in the use of Microsoft Office Tools • White box testing Responsibilities: Responsible for developing and executing formal test plans to ensure the delivery of quality software applications. Primary job duties: Test planning, writing test cases/scripts, test case automation and test execution. Defines and tracks quality assurance metrics such as defects, defect counts, test results and test status. Collects and analyzes data for software process evaluation and improvements, and integrates them into business processes to address the needs of the business. Documents all problems and assists in their resolution. Delivers quality process training to technical staff and acts as an internal quality consultant to advise or influence business or technical partners.
