* Location: River woods, Chicago* * Responsibilities * · Demonstrating sound business understanding to clients (banks, credit unions or other Financial Institutions) in the area of Student lending. · Should have a comprehensive and in-depth understanding of Student lending business lifecycle i.e. right from origination / credit approval process to end to end student loan servicing. Prior work experience with a financial institution (bank or specialized student lending institution) dealing in Student loans would be an added advantage. · Should be able to independently formulate and design business requirements in order to build a robust student lending product for the US market. (Writing/reviewing Functional and System requirements / specifications based on domain knowledge and without having to depend on requirements provided by clients). Should be ready to interact with the off-shore teams in India. · Should have a flair for eliciting business requirements from clients, clearly demarcate and convince clients on the categorization of business requirements as generic requirements for the market vs client specific. · Analyzing and interpreting complex business requirements and providing solution alternatives to clients in terms of system behavior, data flow, calculation logic, UI design etc. Anchor requirement workshops, analyze and interpret the business requirements and solution them in the product. Should be able to define business processes and / or understand client process to map them to Finacle · Identify the need for third party alliances and drive integration requirements with such partner solutions · Interacting with product development / technical teams, testing, compliance, presales and other stake holders during the complete product development, certification and implementation lifecycles. The role may involve travel to meet prospective clients as scheduled by the sales / presales teams; make presentations; participate in solution discussions and participate / anchor product demos. · Keeping updated on the latest trends in Banking sector and proactively contributing to development activities to ensure product is updated with latest trends. Demonstrating thought leadership and sound business understanding to clients in the area of Student lending. · Ensuring that the product solution meets the local market requirements in terms of business needs and also usability expectations · Should be aware of the implementation life cycle and be able to steer through the implementation for Loans module. *Skills* · Industry/domain experience: In-depth knowledge of Student loan origination and management / servicing practices and processes in the US. Understanding of Student Lending Products like Federal student loans, Private lender student loans, Direct Stafford Loans etc. · Knowledge of the US regulatory norms applicable for student lending. Knowledge of Federal Reserve requirements or expectations and state level regulations will be an added advantage. · Knowledge of various forms used in the Student Lending process, sell-down features, Sallie Mae related aspects. · Understanding of complete business requirements including accounting aspects, reporting requirements, interest calculation and billing, non-accrual handling, and other life cycle events applicable for student loans. · Knowledge of software products related to student lending domain. Work experience with any of the student loan servicing system vendors would be an advantage. · Implementation of Core Banking platform with student loan product servicing system. · Knowledge of industry players, partners, solutions offered by various players and integration points would be an advantage * Qualification* *Graduate* *Banking Certification and Specialization will be an advantage.* * Experience Required ( In Years)* 10+ yrs of Banking /IT experience Banking operations – experience in student lending Sound understanding of banking business processes.
