**RDBMS such as Oracle/Teradata/Netezza, ER/Studio data modeling tool (or
equivalent such as Erwin), EDW**

Responsible for the overall design of the enterprise information
architecture, across multiple data types (structured, semi-structured and
unstructured), balancing the need for access against security and
performance requirements.

This individual focuses primarily on enterprise information requirements:
design, access, usage and stewardship.

The position also requires an understanding of emerging regulatory issues
surrounding information assets (such as consumer privacy laws, data
retention policies, outsourced data and specific industry guidelines —
especially in healthcare, insurance and banking).

Also included are the developments or use of process models, creation or
use of information or target data models, interface designs, and
development of internal and external checks and controls to ensure proper
governance, security and quality of information assets.

*Skills and Credentials:*

Seven to 10 years of experience in IT, with a minimum of two years in
information systems design.

 Knowledgeable in the design and construction of information architectures
that enable well-integrated transactional, collaborative and analytical
systems using one or more common information architecture frameworks.

Data/information modeling expertise, including an understanding of
metamodels, at the enterprise level, including familiarity with the
differences between relational modeling and object modeling.

Understand taxonomies and ontologies, as well as the challenges of applying
structured techniques (data modeling) to less structured sources.

Knowledge of problem analysis, structured analysis, and design and
programming techniques.

Knowledge of or experience with one or more multiuser, multitasking
operating systems.

Ability to effectively adapt to rapidly changing technology and apply it to
business needs.

Strong analytical and conceptual skills; ability to create original
concepts/theories for a variety of stakeholders.

Analyze project, program and portfolio needs, as well as determine
resources needed to meet objectives and solve problems that involve remote
and elusive symptoms, often spanning multiple environments in a business
area.

Familiarity with project planning and management, including scope, time and
resource management.

Experience creating data reference models, information policy, and
governance to support effective design of information systems and use of
information across the enterprise.

Experience with various information modeling techniques (e.g. data flow
diagrams, entity-relationship) and tools such as Erwin.

Familiarity with business intelligence and data warehousing development
techniques.

Ability to design logical data architectures and review E-R diagrams.

High-level understanding of relational database management systems, data
structures, and experience in restructuring data architecture and databases
including Teradata, Oracle, and MS SQL Server databases

Understand enterprise data implementation techniques – Data Federation,
Data Consolidation and EAI and an enterprise approach to data standards.

Implement information patterns while designing information architectures.

Understand message-based and transaction-oriented data architectures and
various data formats (e.g. EDI and other industry standards).

Understand data architecture principles of Data Quality, Data Volumes,
Transaction concurrency, Data Latency.

Knowledge of Data profiling, Data standardization and De-Duplication
Techniques when recommending data architectures.

Performing an enterprise architecture role, including the development and
enforcement of data standards and leading practices

Using data modeling techniques for large data stores (Relational and
Multi-Dimensional)

Working with business and IT personnel on data-related issues.

Designing and implementing enterprise data warehouses and large-scale
business reporting.

At least ten years of data warehouse development experience in leadership
capacity using RDBMS such as Oracle/Teradata/Netezza.

Mastery skills within the ER/Studio data modeling tool (or equivalent such
as Erwin)

Extensive experience with EDW implementation of 10+ TB Databases.

Well versed with Inmon/Kimball methodologies among other DW principles.

Experience with Informatica’s Power Center is a plus.
