Position: Game Developer
Location: Redmond, WA

Responsibilities
You will be responsible for server development and feature implementation
through an existing Azure code base. You will take ownership of our Windows
Azure-based MMO Service that provides content delivery, leaderboards, BI
and game services to users worldwide on a 24x7 basis. Because we are a
small team, we are looking for individuals that can do more than just
“write code.” We want self-motivated individuals that are excited to dream,
design, code and support great new features in the world of casual gaming.

As a member of the Microsoft Casual Games Team you will:
- Collaborate with designers, artists, and other programmers to deliver new
experiences, tools, and features as they relate to acquiring, retaining and
reacquiring players
- Architect and build new services and service features, and optimize
existing services to take advantage of the full spectrum of Azure
capabilities and deliver testability, serviceability and fault tolerance.
- Update existing services to take advantages of new Azure Services as they
come on-board
- Work closely with Azure Developers providing timely feedback on new
services
- Design and drive the evolution of our overall service topology with
performance, scalability and supportability in mind
- Help shape and define functional requirements, develop implementation
plans for your areas of ownership
- Coordinate closely with client developers and other consumers in the
design and rollout of new features
- Build BI reporting tools, organizing and mining large pools of raw data
into usable formats
- Maintain 24x7 services, and own the up-time of all services, all the way
to the customer
- Train other team members in how to understand and support our suite of
services

Qualifications and skills
- 3+ years Azure Services development. Familiarity with major Azure service
types, storage, SDKs and toolsets
- Experience as an Azure developer for multiple high-availability,
production-scale C# or C++ projects
- A good understanding of optimizing Windows Azure services, building,
measuring and validating are essential
- Experience working with networked applications and networking code, as
our games are multi-player and online with deep ties to online services
- Strongly motivated and excited by working on a small nimble teams, with
ability to work both independently and in conjunction with other team
members
- 5+ years of professional programming experience
- 5+ years C# and C++ experience
- BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience

Bonus Qualifications:
- Experience with Windows Store apps and WinRT
- Experience with Unity or Xamarin
- Experience shipping on mobile platforms
- Experience with Xbox LIVE services
- A passion for games and gaming, specifically casual games
