*_Essential functions of the position:_*
·Design, document and author new application components and utilities of
moderate to complex scope
·Maintain and modify existing application code
·Triage and correct problems with development, test and production systems
·Assist with the review and estimation of effort and duration for
features, change requests, or defects
·Provide full-scale solutions starting from business requirements to the
final application components
·Mentor and lead junior developers in their technical growth and education
·Perform all work in accordance with company’s quality programs,
standards and procedures
·Maintain safety, security, and privacy standards throughout all areas
of responsibility.
*_Essential requirements for the position:_*
·8+ years experience as a software developer and designer or architect
·Proficiency in J2EE 1.3.x/1.4.x/1.5.x, JSP, EJB, Struts, XML development
·Proficiency in HTML, JavaScript, DHTML and XHTML required
·Knowledge of SQL and O-R mapping tools (Hibernate) required, PL/SQL
knowledge preferred.
·Java or Web component developer certification useful
·Experience using UML standard design artifacts such as class models and
sequence diagrams
·Experience with J2EE patterns, development best practices, and
iterative methodologies (RUP, XP, FDD)
·Able to work independently on routine assignments, such as maintaining
and modifying existing application programs.
·WebSphere 5.x or 6.x or 7.x Application Server Experience
·Experience with WebSphere Studio Application Developer (WSAD), Eclipse
and/or other Java and web development tools including CVS, Jprobe, TOAD,
DBVisuzalizer, MagicDraw, Fiddler, etc.
·Experience troubleshooting and resolving application defects
·Experience with AJAX, JSTL and/or Display Tag
·Exposure to MQSeries and/or MDB messaging desirable

·B.S. in Computer Sciences or related field
·Must possess strong analytical and problem solving skills
·Must have the ability to work with minimal supervision
·Must have the willingness to take initiative
·Must be detail-oriented and process focused
·Must be a self-starter
·Must be articulate and have excellent written and oral communication skills
·Must be results-driven and willing to apply additional effort when
required to meet commitments
·Must be effective in prioritizing tasks and responsibilities
·Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, demanding environment with
competing demands
·Experience in performance tuning J2EE applications a plus
·Experience with XSL/T, jQuery libraries and of Unix shell scripting are
pluses
