This experience is relevant to one of my current openings.* *Job Description:* *Title: EDI Consultant* *Location: Woonsocket, RI* *Duration: 6 Months* *ROLE DESCRIPTION:* · Communication tasks with Business · Requirements gathering/ design · Preparation of Design Documents and Unit test cases. · Creation of Business logic for the application. · Electronic data interchange- EDI design and assembly · Create Functional and Technical Specifications · Complete work items within the estimated effort and schedule. · Educate/transition to upstream and downstream systems about the data tailoring as per EDI X12 standards and the compatibility of data in their systems. · Test support during ST, UAT and Post production (initial 2 weeks) - planned as well as ad-hoc (emergency) basis. · Performance tuning of DB2 queries. · Deployment of the application. *ESSENTIAL SKILLS:* Gentran EDI Mapping design and assembly. Proficiency in Mainframe is an added advantage. *DESIREABLE SKILLS:* 1. Gentran/Sterling/WDI EDI Mapping, Unix-Cobol and Gentran EDI Mapping design and assembly. 2.
