His day to day responsibilities would include adding new hosts to monitoring tool, adjusting any alerting thresholds, look for continuous improvements on alerting, create Nagios plugins, custom alerting as needed on Nagios. *Responsibilities:* *Leads Application and/or Infrastructure monitoring design, implementation, customization and support efforts for on premise datacenter. THIS IS NEW SOLUTION THEY WILL BUILD FROM GROUND UP * *Work with IT engineering and IT Operations to determine application dependencies and implement monitors and alerts. The engineer position will maintain, service, and enhance established pro-active monitoring solutions for all business/mission critical applications.* · Develop monitoring dashboards and reports. · Development and deployment of monitoring templates and scripts · Developing, automating, managing daily/weekly/monthly maintenance and administration tasks for the monitoring infrastructure · Design/develop/manage scripts and utilities to support monitoring requirements · Participates in the development of strategies and directions for monitoring tools and operational support solutions. *Qualifications:* - Experience in all phases of design, installation and maintenance of monitoring systems and operational support solutions. - Expertise/experience with at least one of the following products is strongly desired: *Nagios,* Sitescope, Zabbix, New Relic, Solarwinds, etc. *someone who can implement from ground up and has past experience doing it* - Understanding of Event Management, Enterprise Systems Management, Network Monitoring, Application Performance Management, and distributed computing technologies. - Experience with Linux, Windows, and networking. - Strong scripting skills and performing system administration tasks on distributed platforms. - Ability to work under tight timeline and pressure.
