Responsibilities*:*
· Participate in the development of multi-tier distributed
application in a Tibco and Java environment
· Work with business owners to gather requirements, prepare
functional specifications, form project plans and communicate progress
throughout the software development lifecycle.
· Work with the technical team lead to review, analyze and define
requirements for the new development project
· Create technical and functional design documents. Create,
validate and enhance prototypes for projects
· Analyze and design technical solutions for complex business
requirements
· Development to include new product development, customizations
and enhancements
· Has the ability to create efficient SQL queries and understands
how to optimize them for performance.
· Support Norfolk Southern IT in working with an outsourcer for
collaborative application development and collaborative programming.
· Provides proactive advice and feedback throughout the development
lifecycle for prevention and early correction of quality problems.
Skills*:*
Required:
· 3+ years modeling business logic and automating business
processes using TIBCO Business Works and EMS messaging
· 5+ years in an enterprise information technology environment
developing Java based client-server applications using Java, JSP,
JavaScript, HTML and CSS
· 3+ years developing applications using SQL against relational
databases.
· Experience developing applications within a disciplined
development methodology such as SDLC, UML, etc.
· Working experience in creating Concepts, Simple Events, Complex
Events, DB concept, writing the rules and configuring the backing store in
TIBCO BE.
· Working experience in EDI, Flat file transactions and
communication.
· Working experience in use and deployment of Web Services using
SOAP and RESTFUL models.
· Experience with relational databases including DB2LUW and/or SQL
Server.
· Thorough knowledge of Relational Databases and SQL development
· Working experience in JAVA.
· Use of JavaScript frameworks like ExtJS and JQuery
· Working experience in XML.
· Excellent Web Development skills in client/server environment
· Knowledge of EAI messaging standards like Websphere MQ and JMS
messaging
· Effective independent and team player and self-starter with high
adaptability to new technologies.
· Strong teamwork ethic
· Excellent verbal, written communication skills and Good
Documentation
· Experience developing and supporting mission critical
applications running 24x7
Preferred:
· Experience with JBoss and Tomcat
· Familiarity with testing methodologies, strategies and automated
tools
· An understanding of design patterns and user interface design
· Working experience in design, development and implementation of
enterprise level web based projects.
· Experience in designing the Business State Model, Decision Table
using Tibco Business Events.
· Knowledge of system and process monitoring using TIBCO Hawk and
TIBCO Administrator.
· Experience using UML analysis and design techniques, especially
use case modeling, sequence diagramming, domain and class diagramming.
· Experience defining and managing system requirements through the
system development life cycle.
· Experience designing and developing large systems with the
following characteristics:
- High Availability
- Scalable performance
- Service oriented
- Loosely coupled integration
