If you find your self suitable for the position, please send me your latest updated resume along with contact details. *Job Title EMC Storage Solutions Engineer* *Project Location Washington, DC* *Duration 5+ Months * *Interview Mode: Phone and Skype* *Skills Required and Job Description:* The Resident Engineer will work collaboratively with client personnel to manage the storage infrastructure, implement storage management best practices, and improve operational efficiencies. The Resident will coordinate all EMC Storage activities within the environment pertaining to the utilization and implementation of the EMC software and hardware infrastructure, and provide assistance as directed by the customer. The Engineer shall perform daily storage operations tasks such as reports, provisioning, storage connectivity, storage allocation, incident and problem management and the implementation of changes to the storage operational infrastructure. Responsibilities: - Shares ownership of operational responsibility for storage provisioning and availability at the customer site(s) with the Customer Storage Manager. - Provisions storage based on standardized procedures detailed in the Operational Run Book and to meet customer agreed upon standards. - Responsible for configuration and layout of storage infrastructure. - Performs necessary storage infrastructure maintenance in accordance with EMC and customer’s change management policies. - Performs necessary data migration as required and defined by EMC's migration practices. - Provides analysis of Environment and Best Practice knowledge transfer. - Generates Regular operations reports using customer supplied tools, such as EMC Control Center. - Recommends changes to procedures which result in operational optimization. - Participates in Root Cause Analysis reviews when applicable.
