Title: DB2 DBA with UNIX Location: Charlotte, NC Type: Contract Job Description: Our client, a national insurance leader, seeks a Senior DBA for a long term project. We are looking for a Senior DBA to administer and maintain non-production and production environments using the following technologies: IBM DB2 on zOS platform and IBM DB2 LUW (LINUX/UNIX/WINDOWS) on AIX and Solaris platforms. Experience with IBM InfoSphere Information Server products is a significant plus. Responsibilities: - DBA will be responsible for standards and design of physical data storage, maintenance, access, and security administration. - Additional duties include: backup and recovery, configuration of database parameters, prototyping designs against logical data models, definition of data repository, data dictionaries and warehousing requirements, optimization of database access and allocation of database resources for optimum configuration of database performance and cost. Requirements: - Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field or equivalent work experience. - 6 years of experience working with various database management systems in database design, testing, implementation, maintenance and administration in a multiple platform environment. Skills: - This is a 2 skill sets type DBA but main skill set required is DB2 LUW on a UNIX/zLINUX platform. - DB2 LUW on Unix and/or zLinux platform. - DB2 LUW on Linux, SQL lang. proficiency (AIX).
