Job Title - Solution Engineer Location - Jersey City,New Jersey Duration - 12 - 18 Months (Possible Extension) Rate - DOE Job Description -* Solution Engineering (SE) will provide infrastructure-related consulting services to DTCC to support the definition and implementation of changes to DTCC's infrastructure in support of technology and business driven projects. The Solution Engineering services will focus on identification of requirements, design of hardware/software/communication solutions, and definition of implementation plans. *Position Summary:* In conjunction with other Solution Engineers, works with infrastructure, business, and application development areas to provide General Consulting, Business Planning Estimates, Design, Implementation Planning, and Feasibility Estimate services. Works closely with Enterprise Architecture and Subject Matter Experts throughout the company to help identify/design/plan infrastructure changes. Conducts research and understands industry trends and events with regards to existing and emerging technologies in support of DTCC's enterprise Infrastructure. Monitors post-Implementation Planning fulfillment of the initiative to ensure the validity of the design and provide guidance. Collects metrics to refine estimation and design techniques. *Principal Responsibilities:* - Design and Plan Infrastructure solutions based on business, development, and infrastructure requirements. - Develop Business Planning Estimates, Designs and Implementation Plans from requirements analysis resulting in Build, Operations, and Services Specifications. - Provide Infrastructure consulting to customers/requestors and articulate and demonstrate how infrastructure solutions could address their business challenges and opportunities. - Maintain understanding of existing DTCC technology assets for leveraging the reuse and/or consolidation of Infrastructure. - Lead and enable collaboration across technology specialties. - Obtain concurrence and agreement on Infrastructure solutions from requestor throughout engagement. - Maintain understanding of emerging infrastructure concepts and methods and associated technology trends. - Maintain working knowledge of Software Implementation Life Cycle methodology - Incorporate security concerns into infrastructure designs to minimize security exposures. - Evaluate and recommend technology solutions, often in conjunction with subject matter experts Work with Infrastructure and application development teams to architect standard infrastructure solutions within the DTCC datacenter. *Experience:* · Working knowledge of development and infrastructure process lifecycles. · Written and verbal communication and presentation skills. · Demonstrated ability to work well in a team and matrix environments · General consulting/project skills (ability to help clients define requirements, write statement of work, marshal resources, project management, scope control, risk management). · Demonstrated ability to lead and manage projects from requirements gathering thru implementation · Client relationship management skills. · Experience implementing systems with transaction management & database management · Financial management experience - understanding of depreciation vs. expenses, plan vs. actual. · Demonstrated Ability to produce cost-benefit analysis and/or ROI · Experience engineering solutions adhering to compliance ie: HIPAA, SOX, SAS70, etc. · Infrastructure analysis and design experience in mapping user problems to reusable design and technology solutions · Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to project teams including business representatives · Experienced background of complex enterprise engineering and design. · Experience engineering solutions on multiple platforms (e.g. Mainframe, Distributed, Windows) · Experience in Storage & Server or Networking & Security or database deployment/migration projects · Datacenter production experience in a Global environment · Experience with Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, Visio and Microsoft Project Functional knowledge: ITIL, IT Governance *Knowledge and Skills Required:* · REQUIRED: Blend of skills and experience in 2 or more areas of: Mainframe/Midrange, Distributed Systems, Network/Security, Storage, Middleware, Database, Tools, 3rd party technologies, User Technologies · REQUIRED: Functional knowledge of: Standards usage, Cost analysis and management, Capacity Planning / Demand Management, Compliance, Support (Operations/Customer Care), Asset Repurpose Management, Risk Management, Green Technology, ITIL, IT Governance · REQUIRED: %+ years of experience in scoping, designing, integrating and implementing infrastructure to high availability, distributed, and mission critical business systems · Experience in Infrastructure Compliance, backup/recovery, business continuity, and monitoring. · Experience with capacity planning, sizing, fault tolerance, high availability, and load balancing in a distributed application environment · Analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities · Understanding of the organization's goals and objectives · Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment *Education, Training &/or Certification:* Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in computer science, engineering or related experience preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience Thanks & Regards, *Venu Goud* *Sr.Executive Recruitments* 904-371-9198 [email protected] | www.platotechinc.com Blog - http://venujobsblog.blogspot.in/ Yahoo - venu.usstaffing G-talk - venu.recuiter -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "US_IT.Groups" group.
