*Title: Lead Release Engineering*
*Duration: 6 month contract*
*Location: Mountain View, CA*
*Description*
*Responsibilities:*
Gather and document requirements for the *Source Code Management,
Product Build, Release Processes, Reporting and test integration*.
Define, document and communicate the *SCM and build processes.*
Develop and communicate short and long term roadmaps and delivery
schedules.
Organize and lead team to deliver to schedule. Identify and resolve
issues
Define and report key metrics for build activity and scalability.
* Skills Required:*
Strong Release Engineering domain expertise.
Ability to quickly understand current build system and processes,
recognize weaknesses, provide vision for a scalable system, and provide
guidance to team to deliver.
Strong ability to be hands on to help team deliver against objectives.
Strong experience with scripting languages such as *Python/Django
(preferred), Ruby/Rails, Perl, Java, PHP, etc., and with build oriented
languages such as Ant and Make*.
Experience with implementation and administration of build automation
tools such as Buildbot (preferred), Jenkins/Hudson, etc.
Familiarity with maintaining and configuring distributed Source Code
Management systems - Mercurial preferred.
Excellent oral, analytical and critical thinking skills.
At least 4 years’ experience in software engineering, release
engineering, and/or configuration management.
BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
