Must have excellent knowledge of Oracle Data Guard. Familiarity with Oracle 12C multitenant strategies is a plus. Working knowledge of EMC's DDBoost for Oracle as an RMAN backup strategy is a plus. SKILLS REQUIRED: 1. Migrate large databases to Oracle RAC and Exadata using import/export, datapump, custom sql statements over dblinks, and Golden Gate replication 2. Administer, Implement, and Maintain Oracle databases on Unix platforms using OEM, DBArtisan, and SQLPlus. 3. Write advanced unix shell and PL/SQL scripts for automating database builds and other Oracle database maintenance activities. 4. Engineer new database technologies working as an active contributor on a database engineering team. 5. Create professional quality operational, procedural, and standards documentation for new database technologies using Microsoft Word. Good written communication skills are required. 6. Good oral communication skills. Candidate needs to be able to speak his opinion diplomatically. Needs to be an active contributor to engineering design efforts and not simply an order taker. 7. Identify and resolve Oracle performance issues using SQL Tuning Advisor, SQL Profiles, SQL Plan Baselines, indexing strategy, Oracle configuration parameter analysis, and SQL coding enhancements. 8. Plan and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Must have good organizational skills. ADDITIONAL JOB SUMMARY: ------------------------ Performs data modeling, logical and physical database design based on a thorough knowledge of modeling techniques, the modeling tools available on the project, and the business functions of the subject system. Performs database administration including tasks such as loading data, managing data security and user access, performance monitoring and tuning, and all aspects of data integrity, backup, recovery, and user support. Plans, executes, and maintains database capacity, backup and recovery, and disaster recovery plans.
