*Position: *SOA Tester

*Essential Job Functions:*
- Work within various test methodologies such as SAFe agile
- Participate in the web application technical design process with the
Application Architects on Internet and eCommerce related development
projects.
- Test web services using ITKO Lisa automated scripts.
- Test web services using SDLC best practices.
- Participate in all phases of web services system testing.
- Develop, implement and maintain quality and test procedures, processes
and best practices for QA.
- Develop and maintain test plan and test cases with associated test
data based upon functional and non-functional requirements.
- Identify test automation opportunities to improve efficiency and
effectiveness of test services.
- Contribute to test automation scripting standards and best practices.
- Understand SOA Reference Architecture.
- Elicit & understand SOA testing requirements.
- Write automation scripts and participate in peer reviews.
- Develop a repeatable process for designing, developing, and executing
scripts.
- Conduct tests, document and analyze test results and present findings
to development teams.
- Report and document defects found during test cycles. Participate in
defect prioritization sessions.
- Work with development teams to instill testability into development
practices.
- Provide test services for support activity and work with release
management to assure product release quality.
- Communicate timely status, including any potential risks/issues to the
appropriate teams to ensure completion of all deliverables within schedule,
budget and quality constraints.

*Requirements:*
The ideal candidate would:
*Team/Position specific requirements (Experience, Skills,
Tools, Methodologies, Culture)*
- Have 5+ years of overall software testing experience
- Prior experience in Agile software development methodology (SAFe
approach preferred)
- Prior experience using Jira for defect tracking
- Have a minimum 3 years’ experience with automated web services testing.
- Possess in depth knowledge of SOA test automation framework, process,
strategy, and approach
- Demonstrate experience in validating XML, XSD, XPath Syntax, Web
Services, MQ, Topics, REST, HTTP, SOAP Messaging, etc.
- Show a strong understanding of Java and C programming fundamentals
- Be very familiar with ITKO Lisa or similar automated test tool (e.g.
ParaSoft SOA, Soap UI) to include:
o Test script design and development
o Testing web services designed to function in a Service Oriented
Architecture (SOA) environment
o Designing and writing automated test scripts
- Be proficient in SQL and database concepts. SQL experience is a must
- 2 years
- Ability to succeed and focus in a fast paced environment with
noise/distractions
- Have own transportation as occasional travel between Kroger locations
is required.

- Understand and utilize risk based testing techniques
- Understand and differentiate the various types of testing (unit,
smoke, functional, integration, system, user acceptance, regression,
performance, and usability testing)
- Effectively analyze requirements to create usable test cases
- Conduct root cause analysis on system issues
- Document defects with clear information and steps to recreate
- Accurately estimate work assignments
- Manage and seek prioritization for tasks to meet project deadlines
- Multi-task to meet assignment deadlines
- Show assertiveness
- Demonstrate excellent team work and collaboration skills
- Effectively communicate to management and business partners
- Have obtained a bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or have
related and equivalent work experience
