*Job Title* VB.NET Developer *Project Location* St. Paul, MN *Duration* 6 months /Contract *Skills Required and Job Description:* Moi:Telephonic+Skype MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES • Work with the business to identify business needs, develop business requirements and technical design documents, and develop applications which fulfill the requirements & meet the business need • Prepare and/or participate in the development and execution of unit, acceptance, & system test plans. • Adhere to software development methodology and application development standards. • Provide system user support (Including on-call support) and maintain & enhance applications as required while maintaining the integrity of the application and data. Investigate and resolve issues in a timely manner & maintain system documentation. • Develop strong relationships with peers & business associates that allow work to move forward with a common understanding. • Mentor peers with respect to applications, business processes, and development and design best practices. • Adhere to development methodology and application development standards. • Comply with all government regulations and Green Tree policies, procedures, and professional standards. SELECTION CRITERIA • A minimum of 5 – 6 yrs. application design and development experience is required. • A minimum of 3 years experience utilizing Visual Studio, VB.NET, and ASP.NET. • Additional experience on the IBM iSeries (A/S400) and exposure to SQL, RPG-IV, and DB2 is highly desireable. • A very strong knowledge of the .NET Framework and related design and development best practices is necessary.. • Experience leading small to medium sized projects with responsibilities for: • The development and documentation of Business Requirements plus Functional and Technical Design Specifications. • Development of detailed Project Plans and Estimates. • Providing work direction for 2-5 programmers. • Experience working directly with business areas in all facets of the application lifecycle. • Experience in the areas of Insurance, Finance, or Consumer Lending is highly desirable. • Candidate must be a self starter, highly motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a team. • Must be able to pick things up quickly, analize system issues, and modify legacy applications without a great deal of assistance.
