Job Title: Java programming tester/QA Duration: 3+ Months Contract Location: Campbell, CA Job Description: Principal Duties and Responsibilities: 40% - Design and implement automated test framework to facilitate device and/or web UI testing Maintain test scripts and execute automation against nightly builds Report as many clearly defined and reproducible bugs as possible and maintain bugs verified or with proper status. Support the tasks requested with clear and detailed results Raise any issue or suggestions on testing Create and maintain documentation for knowledge sharing (i.e. test tool usage, project information, testing results/status, qualification notes, etc.) Be able to automate test cases with proper validation and error handling to ensure stability of automated test framework Transform manual tests to automated scripts and maintain various sets of test coverage cases Possess enough business knowledge to develop meaningful test scenarios Have the common sense to detect improper behavior from testing even when it is not specified explicitly 20 % -Good understanding of general software testing principles and methodologies. Experienced testing products developed in JAVA Hands-on experience with mobile device automation: iOS and Android Familiar with test repository such as HP Application Lifecycle Management Good understanding of bug defect cycle and severity. Experience with JIRA, bugzilla, or subversion is desired. Understand all details on project including requirements, UI spec, dev design doc, test plan and test cases. Work on build process in automatic way for nightly builds and be knowledgeable on all QA related tools including but not limited to Jenkins, Puppet, Maven Clear on the relationship of the application and the databases Be able to retain knowledge given in memory and take good notes so when situation arises he/she can determine quickly where the problem lies and resolve it ASAP Demonstrates organizational skills and ability to communicate and work well with peer. Demonstrate good problem solving skills and ability to come up with edge case scenarios Demonstrate attention to details and has good follow up skills Ability to work from functional specifications to write test plans. Work closely with manager on measuring and improving testing efficiency & effectiveness. 20 % - Properly diagnose test results and document product defects. Setup test environment and follow release notes to install product releases and fixes. Execute test scripts and cases and initiate modifications if necessary. Provide daily test status on testing progress and issues. 20 % -Actively participate in product and project team meetings. Keep abreast of business needs and stay current with technology trends. 100 % Total Time (Must Equal 100%) Job Requirements: Experience in architecture and implementation of automated test framework using Selendroid, Appium, and Javascript connecting to multiple devices where these devices can communicate with each other Experience in JAVA and Javascript development Experience in mobile application automation and testing on iOS and Android Experience in Xcode IDE/Instruments is preferred Experience in build process using Jenkins, Puppet, and Maven is perferred 7+ years Software Engineering experience, including 5+ year experience working in a Quality Assurance testing environment 5+ year experience in mobile device automation against mobile apps, not mobile web browser Testing experience Expertise in formal software testing methodologies Integration testing Conformance testing Module and Functional testing Conduct document inspections & reviews Scripting and automated software testing tools Solid Backend and Front-end testing experience Performance Testing Strong telecommunication and wireless industry knowledge. Strong Cellular industry knowledge Strong knowledge of company products, systems and applications. Strong working knowledge of testing analysis, processes and methods.
