*Please send resume to [email protected]* * * *Senior UNIX Administrator* *Location**: ** AZ* *Rate: $50/HR* *Duration: 1 yr.* * * *Job Description:* The purpose of this position is to provide support and management for Internal and Customer UNIX environments. Typically this individual will provide daily support for UNIX servers located in local or remote data centers. This individual will be based on-site at a customer location and participate in customer meetings. This individual will also be part of a larger service delivery team that supports all outsourced IT and network environments. *ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:* * To provide technical support and management of a Linux, HP-UX and Solaris UNIX environment. * Installation of operating system software and utilities * UNIX Kernel configuration and maintenance patch installation. * Experience administering DNS, NFS, NIS and SMTP * Configuring internal and external devices attached to the systems * Installing application software * Develop standards and documentation for managing UNIX servers * Participate in regular disaster recovery testing * Regular, predictable attendance *Required Skills:* 5+ years of current experience administering multiple UNIX within complex environments. * In depth OS knowledge of Linux (SUSE 9/10, RHEL 4.x/5.x), HPUX (11.x & 11.i), Sun Solaris (2.8 –2.10) * In depth Hardware knowledge of HP DL class (X86), HP K-class, L-class, N-class and Sun SunFire, T-2000/5200, M5000 and X-based hardware * Excellent Shell and Perl scripting skills for automating maintenance tasks * Experience with upgrading and migrating UNIX/Linux systems * Experience with Kick Start, JumpStart, and Ignite tapes * Experience with VERITAS foundation Suite and Cluster Services and HP volume and cluster services, Sun Cluster experience a plus * Experience with Solaris Volume Manager, HP LVM and Linux LVM/LVM2 * Experience with Solaris 10 virtualization (containers and LDOM’s), HP Domains, VMware ESX a plus * Experience in "Bare Metal" recovery techniques for above platforms for Disaster Recovery * Experience with HBA configurations and SAN/NAS/NFS environments * Experience with standard UNIX services such as SMTP, snmp, dns, ntp, etc… * Experience with monitoring and backup agents from Tivoli * Excellent analytical and problem solving skills * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Excellent team player * Self-starting and highly motivated individual * Experienced in training and leading junior team members * Experienced in writing documentation for provided services * Positive attitude and willing to take on new responsibilities EDUCATION: Technical/BS degree or higher We are proud to be an EEO/AA employer M/F/D/V.
