*Title- Sr. Security Engineer* *Location- Renton, WA* *Duration- 9+ months* *Position- 2* *Need someone local to WA* *Description;-* The Security Engineer is responsible for researching, evaluating, and designing technical security solutions for the enterprise in support of the Strategic Security Plan; providing technical security assessment support; as well as providing technical security collaboration and guidance within a Region of Providence Health & Services. Enterprise accountabilities include executing security engineering practices for Enterprise Security projects; conduct product research and participate in the selection process of technologies to support security requirements; establish technical security guidance for PH&S; and conduct technical security assessments. The position reports to the Director of IT Security Services, Communication Services Infrastructure and must establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff at all levels in Providence Strategic and Management Services (PSMS), as well as with other Providence Health & Services staff, vendors and agents, and others. Regional accountabilities include participating as part of a “virtual team” consisting of a Security Engineer and Security Risk Analyst led by the Regional Information Security Officer (RISO) for daily operational security support for the Region; participating in regional architecture review processes and regional change management boards; and assisting with Incident Response activities as required. Staff in this role must have the ability to provide a high level of technical expertise across multiple technology disciplines; balance regional and enterprise security responsibilities and work in a matrixed reporting structure. *Required:-* · Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or IT, or related industry is required, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience continuously in junior. · *Experience:* *8-10 years of IT technical experience AND 5-8 years of continuous information security experience. * · *Active CISSP, SCCP, SANS or equivalents are required*. · Level III placements requires industry recognized expert level technical competency in all Level I and II knowledge, skills and abilities, plus the following: Ability to use ingenuity to solve technical problems, develop unique solutions for new technical issues or challenges. · Experience developing standards and/or best practices for securing LAN, WAN, VPN, operating systems, mobile devices and firewall configuration, implementation, hardware selection, and topology design. · Ability to provide direction, insight, advice to Level I - II staff regarding the execution of tasks. · Ability to assist Level I - II staff regarding new and emerging technologies, validate their research and provide oversight as necessary to insure they don’t explore unwarranted and unnecessary areas of technology. · Ability to work with business partners in resolving infrastructure outages. · Must possess expert troubleshooting skills. · Ability to assume leadership role in obtaining and directing technical resources during problem resolutions or during a crisis or critical problem event.
