*Profile: Project Manager* *Location: New York * *Duration: 1 year* *Preferrence: Only local candidates who can take up a F2F interview* *Job Description: * Work together with the PMO to plan and execute projects, ensure that subteams have appropriate product and technical specifications, direction, and resources to deliver products effectively by establishing realistic estimates for timelines while ensuring that projects remain on target to meet deadlines Work closely with the Architecture Council to effectively define and adopt standards that will aid in the delivery and maintenance of SMART Collaborate with the Enterprise Architecture team in crafting the Product Vision Oversee plans for enterprise architecture, solutions engineering, and code development functions Oversee technical-design and development principles/best practices Demonstrate leadership abilities with the creation of release schedules for deployment of software, enhancements and fixes that are coordinated based on the Change Control Board Provide a technical architecture plan that meets the future needs of the agency, based on state‐of‐the‐art technologies Plan subprojects and manage the implementation with a release Assist development teams resolve technical issues Provide leadership and guidance to coach, motivate, and lead all SMART team members to their optimum performance levels *MANDATORY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field Minimum of 5 years of management/leadership experience in a software development organization; experience working with offshore teams strongly preferred Must have at least 10 years of experience working through the design, development, release cycle, and delivering software products – demonstrated ability to lead and be responsible for all those tasks A record of successful delivery of software applications as an individual, team leader and/or development manager Strong understanding of the software development cycle and release methodologies Strong leadership, project management skills, time management, and technical problem solving skills Experience with managing the development of ERP systems, ideally with PeopleSoft Experience in Java Programming and J2EE application server software development with various middleware components and the java family of products Strong experience with web services and web-based interfaces Strong experience with relational database systems ideally Oracle Willingness and ability to dive into and take responsibility for the resolution of software development and technical issues *DESIRABLE SKILLS/EXPERIENCE : * Preference will be given to candidates with an MBA or Masters in Computer Science or related area. The preferred candidate should also possess a PMP certification, or demonstrated performance in a large scale, public sector application delivery project in a related project is a plus; demonstrated project delivery or proficiency in monitoring and/or management tools; Knowledge of infrastructure computing architectures; knowledge of modern user Interfaces such as web browsers, knowledge of modern database structures, demonstrated past successes leading complex technology delivery projects in public sector, ideally an NYC agency. Due to the necessary technical management duties of this position in a 24/7 operation, candidate may be required to be on call and/or work various shifts such as weekends and/or nights/evenings.
