*Position : GCS Storage engineer* Location : Sunnyvale, CA Duration : 6+ Months *Request Summary: * · A working experience with director class SAN switches, preferably Brocade working with BNA, as well as various workgroup level SAN switches. Must provide a proven track record of maintaining an enterprise SAN environment. · Analytical skills and the ability to work across IS groups is required. Position is part of an on-call rotating coverage group and will require 7x24 support as part of that rotation. Other job duties include standard UNIX administration (3rd level troubleshooting), engineering duties (e.g., patch installation, OS updates) and assisting in architecting new solutions. · Additional skills appreciated: A strong Solaris background in relation to SAN. Tivoli Storage Manger with IBM Tape hardware EMC Datadomain and/or other Enterprise level backup/restore software. TPC and other disk management software experience is a plus. *Description* · This position is focused on SAN and NAS administration, including: general maintenance, installation, configuration, provisioning, logical volume management, multi-pathing drivers; performance review and troubleshooting; working with Vendors and IS Operations on incidents and upgrades; testing and researching of new technologies. A working knowledge with Snapshots and replication technologies is required. A strong background with various virtual environments is encouraged.
