Key Qualifications:
4 years or more years installing, configuring, and troubleshooting
Oracle databases
Expertise in configuring and troubleshooting database features used for
HA & disaster recovery, including Oracle RAC & Oracle Data Guard
History of developing database migration solutions
Determine database structural requirements by analyzing client
operations, applications, and programming. Reviewing objectives with
clients and evaluating current systems.
Previous Database Migration experience a must
Database to Database moves
Instance to Instance moves
Database Server to Database Server move
Previous experience in Database discovery, including ability to map
databases to applications
Ability to research data independently or work with a team of resources
Strong client orientation
Ability to advise clients on current best practices with respect to
database solutions.
Strong communications verbal and written
Ability to travel on short notice (up to 30% with in the continental US)
Preferred Skills/Experience:
General knowledge in the following areas: IT concepts, strategies, and
methodologies, architectures and technical standards, database
administration tools and utilities, application architectures and design
principles, infrastructure architectures, backup and recovery, storage
subsystems, and replication concepts.
3 years database migrating experience with zero downtime
3 years or more in SQL Server, including support of SQL AlwaysOn
Experience supporting other database systems, such as DB2 or MongoDB
Experience configuring additional Oracle software, such as GoldenGate,
OBIEE, Identity Manager, ODI
Understanding of array based vs. database replication
Automation options/methods for database replication and migration
Separation of consolidated instances
Understanding and experience with DB tools used for migration
Validation of instance level moves Analytical ability, good
communication skills, strong judgment, and the ability to work effectively
with clients and IT management and staff.
