Role : Database Infrastructure Architect Duration : 6 months (can be extended) Location : Detroit Renaissance Center Rate : Market *Job Responsibilities not reflected in the standard classification description: * · The information below supersedes the skills, rate and experience noted elsewhere. · 7 years of relevant work experience is required · Experience with Hadoop or an equivalent package is desired (Mongo is not required) · Must have a background in SQL development · Oracle/My SQL experience is preferred *Responsibilities:* Database Infrastructure Architect Major Duties and Responsibilities • Assesses future information requirements in order to develop long-range, comprehensive database plans • Develops policies and procedures designed to ensure the integrity of the database environment • Develops and maintains routines to facilitate database use • Keeps informed on latest developments in the database management field • Plans and coordinates migration to new data management system software levels • Assures that appropriate database management software is available and effectively used • Determines, implements, and enhances standards on database security • Promotes and recommends appropriate database software for new application systems • Educates applications programmers about database concepts and efficient access techniques, and assists them in analysis and problem resolutions pertaining to database • Performs database performance monitoring and implements efficiency improvements • Designs or supervises the designing of the procedures necessary to save and recover databases from hardware and software failures • Supervises the design and maintenance of database structures • May supervise or train staff • Performs related work as assigned Skills and Abilities • Strong knowledge of database management systems, as well as data warehouse management and decision support tools using Oracle • Extensive experience in the development, implementation and maintenance of data warehouses and data marts is desired • Ability to use data base access tools for application delivery • Strong familiarity with analysis, planning and management reporting functions • Well-developed oral and written communications skills • Demonstrated leadership skills • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills • Demonstrated ability to work independently and with others • High level of creativity and innovation in problem solving • Extremely high level of analytical ability where problems are very unusual and extremely difficult • Understanding of benchmarking processes and techniques • Very high level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others, motivate employees, and elicit work output Experience • Minimum 15 years’ experience in the management of corporate information • Experience with Hadoop, Mongo DB and performance tuning Thanks and Regards, *Raja* *Strategic Alliance* *G*lobal *T*echnical *S*oftware *S*ervices Inc.
