Candidates are graded on:

Need Cognos 8.4 but really have to be real Data Warehouse resources, I
believe the preferred ETL tool is Informatica but as long as they are good
at one of the ETL tools it should work. Need full SDLC of Data Warehouse
projects.

*ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS *(What do you have to be able to do to achieve the
desired results of your job? Include management and leadership
responsibilities for work team leaders.)
- Adopt company project methodology to manage all aspects of project.
- Leads JAR (Joint application Review) and JAD (Joint Application Design)
sessions.
- Reviews and prepares system documents and design specifications.
- Co-ordinate design/development effort with onshore/offshore resources.
- Provides technical direction to team members performing systems
analysis and development tasks.
- Design and develop Data Warehousing solutions using Cognos 8
development suite of products (FM Model, Report Studio, Analysis Studio ,
Event Studio & Data Manager)
- Effectively manages break fix items by utilizing Heat application
- Effectively manages application enhancements through utilizing CCMS
process.
- Provide analytical skills in investigating bugs and is able to resolve
issues with minimal business interruption.
- Hands on experience in investigation environmental (Server/Database)
issues. Provides direction to DW Admin and effectively work with various
teams to resolve hardware related issues
- Applies version management skills to manage versions in
development/staging/production environments
*KEY COMPETENCIES* (What are the attributes needed to perform the essential
duties?)
- Strong technical knowledge of Cognos 8 product Suite(FM Model, Report
Studio, Analysis Studio , Event Studio & Data Manager)
- Competent in leading design and development efforts
- Strong written and oral communication skills to interface with vendors,
customers and staff members
· Adapt and deliver to fast changing business requirements.
· Apply sound judgment and decision making while addressing complex
business issues with minimal supervision.
· A team player who can work closely with the EIS and Business
community.
*MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS/PREFERENCES* (What is required to perform essential
duties?)
· *5-6 Year of experience in Data Warehousing*
· *Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science*
· *Proficient with Cognos 8 suite of products including: Report
Studio, Analysis Studio, PowerPlay and Framework Manager; Cognos SDK is a
strong plus***
· *Strong data modeling skills (Normalized and Multidimensional for
Data Marts, including Star Schema, Snow-Flake Modeling, Fact and Dimensional
Modeling)***
· *Strong analytic, problem solving, and collaborative skills***
· *Knowledge and experience working with Relational Databases such
as Oracle, MS SQL, and UDB***
· *Knowledge and experience working on Virtual environments (VMware
is a plus)***
· *Multi-tasking, able to manage and deliver multiple tasks within
short timeframe***
· *Knowledge of Multi-dimensional modeling and data architecture.*
