The Software Engineer is responsible for developing and implementing strategies, architectures and workflows that translate system requirements into finished medical grade products. This covers the product life cycle process from initial concept through and beyond product launch. The position requires both the ability to develop strategic plans and the technical ability to oversee and insure that robust and innovative solutions are utilized and executed. Qualifications: • An advanced Degree in one or more following disciplines: Software Engineering or Computer Science; with undergraduate degrees in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Informatics, Mathematics, or Bio-physics or related field is required. • A minimum of 7 years of experience developing diagnostic instrument system software whereby architecture and system development that provide external network communications is part of the experience required. • Working knowledge of software development and maintenance under IEC, IEEE and FDA guidelines is required. • A minimum of 5 years of experience working in a FDA or other regulated environment is required. • Experience with directing the development of verification and validation software testing is required. • Thorough knowledge and understanding related to complex diagnostics instrumentation principles of application, concepts and practices required. • Good oral and written communication skills are required. • Advanced working knowledge and hands on experience with state of the art system software languages, but limited to: C++, C#, Java, XML, .NET required. • Experience with embedded systems that control and gather data from analog and digital devices preferred. • Ability to integrate SW and HW into a functional instrument preferred. • Experience with assembling and implementing software configuration and bug tracking tools management tools for life cycle management preferred. Experience with LIS and LIMS software interfaces preferred.
