Good school required. *DBA Position Summary:* The following statement summarizes the importance and purpose of the role in the organization. The Database Administrator has responsibility for the design, installation, maintenance, security, and support of database environments at the company. As a member of the IT Infrastructure and Operations team, the DBA will work across project and application development teams on new and existing projects supporting 24x7 operations. The DBA will work in a cross-functional environment designing, provisioning, configuring, securing, and maintaining these environments in a fast paced, growing environment. Maintaining company’s production databases with 100% availability and fastest possible response time will be the key for any DBA role. Work Experience - 8+ years of Solid experience in administering and maintaining multiple SQL Server & other Heterogeneous databases. - Experience in working with applications that are mission critical and require 24/7 uptime Skills and Knowledge - Experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2008 and 2012 - Experience implementing scripts to automate routine database administration tasks - Expertise with configuring, implementing and supporting high availability SQL Server environments, including experience with log shipping, database mirroring and failover clustering - Knowledge on various types of SQL Replication & Log Shipping technologies. - *Working knowledge on SSRS, SSIS and other BI tools. * - Experience in data-warehousing and BI development - *Experience managing large SQL server databases over 500 GB* - Experience managing SQL server databases in a virtualized environment - Experience with tuning query performance, examining execution plans, using traces and other performance diagnostic tools - In depth understanding of database design/application architecture - In depth understanding of database design principals - *Expertise in T-SQL programming* - Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills - Knowledge of disaster recovery principles and practices, including planning, testing, backup/restore - Commitment to deadlines and willingness to meet the needs of 24x7 environment - Act as a subject matter expert for business leaders, Finance Users and IT staff in the areas of database design, application and implementation. - Review database performance metrics and proactively address performance concerns. - Perform capacity and resource planning / management. - Experience in building and maintaining DEV, QA and PROD and Disaster Recovery environments. - Experience in troubleshooting issues and quickly resolve them in an efficient manner that minimizes downtime.
