*Position Summary:* The primary purpose of this positions is to provide customer pre-sales technical support activities. This position will develop comprehensive Storage solutions based on detailed analysis of customers business and technical requirements which includes gathering key requisite business and technical information, developing Storage architecture, and designing Storage products. Primary Duties & Responsibilities Storage Solutions Engineer Overland Park, KS, 6 months - Provides technical expertise in analyzing client’s requirements, recommending solutions, and assisting sales and other engineers with development of proposals, quotations, and presentations. Responsible for technical sales cycle working closely with sales to close business - Identifies opportunities and is able to provide the following expertise: o Product selection o Product configuration o Product sizing - Conducts advanced and complex solution architecture - related studies researching current and emerging technologies, evaluates alternatives, and makes recommendations - Serves as subject matter expert on processes and products in area of responsibility - Mentors other engineers to apply engineering background knowledge for project design, analysis, and project coordination of products - Develops and maintains customer presentations, demo instructions, and other related collateral. - Maintains client relationships as a trusted Technical Advisor. Serves as focal point for communications between both department engineers and clients, when necessary, using experience and judgment to communicate effectively to all parties. - Conducts site surveys and performs IT environment assessments - Provides practice specific architecture designs and sizing documentation - Provides high level product demonstrations - Monitors and manages day-to-day operations of a program, project or function, including developing short and long-range goals, objectives and budgets, coordinating activities with other departments and agencies, overseeing records maintenance, monitoring budgets, approving, and monitoring expenditures, overseeing reporting requirements, evaluating program or project service delivery and cost effectiveness; ensures procedures are being followed and assists in resolving complex problems which require professional level input. This includes: o Development and review of product configurations o Development of ROI and TCO analysis o Performs capacity planning o Preparation of sales quotations and technical responses to Request of Quotation (RFQs) & Request for Information (RFIs) and Request for Proposals (RFPs). o Performance of overall solution Quality Assurance (QA) tasks for all projects delivered against assigned project deliverables. Requirements Position Requirements Basic Qualifications - - Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field - At least five (5) years information technology experience, including architecture and design experience with EMC and at least 1 other of the following storage solutions: IBM, NetApp, HDS Other Position Requirements - Experience with FibreChannel SAN architecture and Design - Demonstrated ability to discuss, present, and design complex solutions - Demonstrated presentation and communication skills - Experience with SAN Volume Controller (SVC) clusters - Complimentary skills surrounding Cisco, VMware, Oracle, Microsoft SQL, Big Data/Analytics, Mobile, Cloud, or Security.
