Experience as an application DBA in support of a client server software application. Including functional knowledge of: Functional knowledge of DB2, including: Catalog Tables, Load/Unload Utilities, Runstats, Explain Utility, Plan/Package Concepts, Bind/Rebind and DBRM. 2. Experience in IBM DB2relational database environments supporting two-tier client server software applications. 3. Experience in the development and maintenance of batch COBOL systems, including COBOL/DB2 integration in the MVS/TSOenvironment. 4. Design, development and performance tuning of relational database query scripts (SQL). 5. Experience with the following tools: IBM ISFP environment, IBM utilities, JCL, TSO/ISPF, Panvalet, SQL/Embedded SQL, Xpediter, SyncSort and FileAid. 6. Experience with DB2 support tools: QMF, SPUFI and FileAid for DB2 Experience with the following environments is preferred: 1. Implementation and support of child welfare software applications and specifically, SACWISsystems. 2. Leading small groups of technical mainframe developers. ADMINISTRATIVE CONSIDERATIONS Deliverables include, but are not limited to: Specifically, the candidate will be responsible for ensuring that recommended modifications to the LINK Application meet the operational mission of the application as well as conform to the expected technical standards of the application. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 1. Provides technical support over a team of mainframe developers to ensure the technical appropriateness of proposed modifications supporting the LINK Application. 2. Assists the LINK Application Manager in coordinating activities related to each quarter’s software development lifecycle. 3. Acts as the application’s database administrator (DBA) for the purposes of maintaining the physical structure of the agency’s DB2 environments, basic performance tuning, consulting with the development staff on changes to the structure of the database and troubleshooting. 4. Serves as a liaison between the agency and DOIT to coordinate support activities related to the mainframe or DB2 environments.
