*Job Description:*
A deep understanding of Sybase IQ 12.7, 15, including IQ Multiplex
Expertise in Sybase ASE 15.02, 15.03
Database monitoring tools including Sybase Central, BMC Patrol and
White Sands ProActive DBA
Database performance and optimization including clustered indexes,
stored procedures, re-orgs, locking and query tuning.
Application tuning and performance management, strong SQL coding and
debugging
Understanding of Sybase IQ and ASE backup and recovery procedures,
including SAN cloning
Logical and physical modeling
Red Hat Enterprise Linux
Raw device mapping
Fibre-channel storage
Korn or Bash shell scripting
Provide project risks, assumptions, tasks and timelines for new project
work
Commit to and comply with milestones and dates in the project plan
Mentor and shadow new team members
Work closely with DBA peers in the Database Operations team.
