*Job Description:*
- Works with Teradata Database and Application performance team to
identify the root causes associated with bottlenecks related to database
and application interaction.
- Advises database administrators and application teams to tune the
performance of the system by tuning SQL queries, physical database design
and/or application interactions.
- Lead, participate in gathering business requirements
- Understand and analyze the source systems
- Define underlying data sources and transformation requirements
- Mentor Development and DBA team members
- Strong background as a Teradata DBA including high performance
physical database design
- Strong knowledge in SQL performance tuning, TASM, Data Mover, Archive,
Restore
- Participate in design reviews and technology for Enterprise tool
selection, enforce a best practices for table/database creation, data skew,
primary index selection.
- Work with Teradata professionals on ongoing issues.
- Strong business knowledge with the ability to translate complex
- Support responsibilities include advising maximizing system
availability, ensuring swift and complete database recovery, optimizing
database and availability through ongoing maintenance, and ensure
conformance to audit and operating standards.
- Participate in the evaluation, and recommendation of appropriate
hardware and software resources.
- Upholds enterprise policy guidelines and recommends new and improved
guidelines
- Coordinates specific database performance monitoring and tuning tasks
including the design of optimization and indexing schemas.
- Performs the physical database design and implementation process for
moderate to largely complex projects.
- Develops data warehouse architecture and data marts to interact with
business intelligence
