*BASIC PURPOSE:*

Application Support Engineers are responsible for the 24x7 monitoring,
troubleshooting, incident command, implementing and the performance of LOB
applications.

The Application Support Engineers function as technical escalation point
for critical production issues and drive escalation/resolution of problems
working with several IT teams. They provide support for three key areas:

1. 24x7 Global support for several brand web properties.

2. Technical support services for Global Projects.

3. Release and deployment services for UAT and Productions systems



*Essential Functions:*

- Manage production and UAT Application deployments

- Communicate often with business partners on team status and any open
issues, making sure to escalate any concerns quickly and concisely.

- Provide the required daily support, maintenance, and management of line
of business application platforms

- Plan and support software releases in conjunction with Project Managers,
QA teams and Developers

- Handle production outages and issues in a timely and effective manner to
guarantee business SLAS.



*POSITION SCOPE:*

This position has global responsibility and reports directly to Manager
Shoreside Application Support. The scope of the position is to serve as the
key support resource for the operating companies in terms of Application
Support and Engineering services. This position will work closely with
Global IT Infrastructure team members, Application Development and
Operating Company’s technical representatives. This position is part of the
Global IT Infrastructure Services team

*QUALIFICATIONS:*

*Education:* Bachelor of Science degree required in Computer Science,
Systems Engineering or Computer Engineering. Master of Science degree in
technical field preferred. Technical and managerial certifications are
desirable

*Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:*

·         10+ Years of experience designing, implementing, and supporting
business applications.

·         Hands on experience in troubleshooting and resolving hardware and
software in critical LOB systems

·         Hands on experience in configuration, test, and optimization of
production application in Unix and Microsoft platforms. Experience with
Autonomy highly desired.

·         Proven experience in implementing release management, continuous
delivery process for multiple sites.

·         Experience implementing build configuration tools, such as
Hudson, Jenkins, Git, SVN, Ant, Node, Chef and Puppet,



o   Experience supporting IIS ,Tomcat, Jboss, Apache, Nginx, etc

o   Experience with system monitoring tools: AppDynamics, Keynote, Splunk.
Zabbix, Nagios, etc

o   Extensive scripting experience: Shell, Python, Perl, Powershell, etc.

·         Experience in Operational Support and DevOps operations.

·         Experience in Application Development in one of the following
languages: .Net C#..Net Vb, PHP, Java, etc.

·         Experience with debugging using one or more of the following:
Visual Studio, Windbg, and Netmon/Wireshark.

·         Ability to work extended hours, nights, and weekends when
required during critical outages or transitions.

·         Hands on experience in creating, evaluating, and updating
documentation

·         Experience working with load balancing technologies and
large-scale web server farms.

·         A strong background in web application deployment, debugging and
troubleshooting.

·         Preferred certifications: MCTIP: Enterprise Administrator, MCPD,
MCTIP,ITIL



·         Ability to collaborate well across geographically diverse teams

·         Passionate about service. Passionate about making a positive
difference.

·         Critical COTS applications include Autonomy and Siebel.
