We are Looking for *Role: Staff Engineer - Embedded Controls* *Location: LA-Shreveport* *ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:* • Development work in embedded control devices that addresses a broad range of Food Service products. • Evaluate electro-mechanical interfaces for electronic control interfacing requirements. Support feasibility studies, proof of concept, and development of new products. • Design, implement, and modify existing controller hardware of electro-mechanical systems. • Communicate critical embedded control needs and get buy in from the team. Provide support and direction on hardware design and development projects. • Evaluate electro-mechanical interfaces for electronic control interfacing requirements. Support feasibility studies, proof of concept, and development of new products. • Design, implement, and modify existing controller hardware of electro-mechanical systems. • Coordinating with test/product engineering to drive product releases and smooth production ramp. Interface with both mechanical and software development teams. • Perform embedded controller hardware system evaluation to ensure performance requirement. Generate State diagrams specific to machine function. *Qualifications:* • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (BSEE or MSEE preferred) with a minimum 8 years direct experience in embedded controller hardware development required. • Experience with microcontrollers, microprocessors and their interfacing required. • Proficiency and experience in PCB schematics capture/layout required. • Experience in CAD tools (such as Altium) preferred. • Experience with electronic controls failure analysis. Knowledge of ESD and EMC theories, testing procedures and techniques. • Must have understanding of operating systems concepts. • Strong skills in documentation, writing and communications required. • Strong understanding of embedded system development processes and best practices. • Normal office environment with requirement to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. · *In addition to industry-leading fryers, the Manitowoc Foodservice – Shreveport, Louisiana operation (Frymaster) manufactures commercial fryer filtration equipment (built-in and portable), foodservice equipment computers, water-bath rethermalizers and pasta cookers.
