We are Looking for *Role: Mainframe System Administrator * *Location: Omaha, NE USA* *Duration: 6+month* *Exp: 10-12 years* *Responsibilities:* The candidate’s responsibilities will mainly be to continually assess the customer’s mainframe processes & setups, find opportunities for optimization and automation, propose them to customer and once accepted, implement and monitor them for desired results. As examples: It (mainframe application set) has 3700 alerts, responses to which could be automated. It has 185000 jobs in which response to job failures could be automated. There are many such opportunities so a full assessment is initially required. Will need to work with multiple user groups associated with applications hosted on mainframe as well as potentially other infra groups *Desired Experience:* At least, 10-12 years overall with at least last 3 years working in similar capacity *Required Skills:* · Mastery knowledge of IBM z/OS Operating System. · Monitor z/OS resources (CPU, memory, disk) · Expert knowledge of mainframe tools/utilities and software (JES2, VTAM, CICS, DB2, Automation) employed as part of problem troubleshooting · Considerable knowledge on automation & optimization in the mainframe space · Knowledge of REXX and other mainframe scripting languages · Knowledge of monitoring tools used in mainframes – BEM (BMC Product), SYSView · Knowledge of CA-7 for batch scheduling · Very strong communication skills – co-ordination, verbal & written communication.
