- Build and implement front-end web applications and back-end services
that integrate with other products.
- Interact with clients both within and across the firm (including
counterparts in Retail & Wholesale Banking, Risk, Digital/Mobile)
- Validate requirements and system design
- Automate and streamline existing processes, procedures, and toolsets
- Ensure code paths are unit tested and defect free
- Participate in full integration testing
- Rapidly address issues and fix defects discovered during deployment
*Qualifications*
- Strong Java, Python, Ruby and/or other functional programming skills
- Experience with JavaScript web application frameworks (e.g., Angular,
jQuery, Backbone or Ember)
- 2-3 years of solid system development experience leveraging a variety
of the following technologies:
- Web Development: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, JSON, XML
- J2EE Technologies: JSP / Servlets, EJB3, JMS, JDBC, JMX, JMS
- Web Services: SOA, XML, XSL, SOAP, REST, Spring MVC, Spring Boot
- Application Development: Python, Java, Ruby
- Application Design: Model-View-Controller (MVC), Object Oriented,
RESTful services / APIs
- Data-Layer Development: MySQL, PostgreSQL, NoSQL
- Hadoop: HDFS, Hive, Spark, HBase, Impala, Apex
- Sound understanding of continuous integration & continuous deployment
environments
- Proven proficiency with XML, Tomcat/JBoss, Apache, Web Services, SOA
and other distributed technologies and architectures
- Solid understanding of application program interfaces (APIs),
messaging software and interoperability techniques and standards
- Knowledge of SQL and ETL concepts is a plus
- Strong analytical skills with a passion for testing
- Excellent problem solving and debugging skills
- Team collaboration maintaining exceptional code, architecture and
documentation
- Detail oriented with a commitment to innovation
- History of open source contribution is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or
equivalent practical experience. Master’s degree is a plus
