*Job Title : **Reliability Engineer* *Location : **Memphis, TN* *Duration : **1 year contract with option to hire* *Candidates MUST be GC/Citizens * *Primary Success Criteria:* • Establishing and documenting reliability requirements per application for each infrastructure layer (DB, middleware, System, Storage/SAN, network, physical and location) • Full and comprehensive assessment and gap analysis of reliability and resiliency for all infrastructure layers • Planning prioritized short and long term mitigations for the identified gaps • Building and establishing on going infrastructure reliability best practices and controls for the organization *Secondary Success Criteria:* • Establishing and documenting capacity requirements per application for each infrastructure layer (DB, middleware, System, Storage/SAN, network, physical and location) • Full and comprehensive assessment and gap analysis of capacity for all infrastructure layers • Planning prioritized short and long term mitigations for the identified gaps • Building and establishing on going capacity mgt processes, policies and controls for the organization *Responsibilities:* • Ensure reliability, resiliency and scalability of infrastructure systems. Aside from engineering new tools and automation, the Reliability Engineer is also responsible for facilitation of communication, collaboration and integration between infrastructure operations, application and development teams, disaster recovery leadership, etc. • Build, establish and maintain enterprise capacity planning principles, techniques and tools to achieve proactive views of potential capacity limitations and estimated future requirements • Collaborate with the Infrastructure team as the engineering stakeholder for reliability and scalability, providing feedback and helping to implement the infrastructure roadmap as applicable. • Collaborate with Information Security team to ensure security industry best practices are followed and implemented • Provide technical input on architecture, design, and implementation changes • Conduct performance evaluations of new technology upgrades and critical software/ hardware changes • Manage and monitor all key system capacity metrics and provide support to all ad hoc reports and dashboards • Evangelize and educate the infrastructure and application/development teams on scalability and reliability concerns while assisting the team in efforts to build these checks into the development and operations workflow. • Drive team level initiatives for continuous technical and functional improvement • Occasional Off Hour engagement for change implementation/validation, escalation and CodeRed/Priority1 incidents *Experience & Skills: * • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related software engineering discipline – preferred, or equivalent number of years in practice. *• 5+ years technical hands on engineering experience with at least 1 of the following:* o Database and Middleware administration o Windows/Linux Administration o Storage/SAN/Backup Administration o Network Administration *• 3+ years of experience in Infrastructure management role for at least 3 of the following* o Database and Middleware administration o Windows/Linux Administration o Storage/SAN/Backup Administration o Network Administration o Datacenter/DR/BCM Services • Experience supporting virtualized and cloud infrastructures • Ability to comprehend, analyze and research problems of a complex nature, make judgment decisions and recommendations. • Understanding of Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery standards and methodologies • Strong desire to learn emerging technologies and to innovate. • Advanced organizing and planning skills • Expertise identifying and mitigating Single Points of Failure and other infrastructure architectural weaknesses and exposure, including DB, middleware, System, Storage/SAN, network and physical layers • Excellent communication and documentation skills • Critical thinking and problem solving • Comfortable with collaboration and open communication across teams and departments • Ability to drive a change Thrive on “keeping the lights on” for our mission critical production systems and related environments.
