· CCNA Security preferred but not necessary
· Ability to resolve issues and solution/architect
without guidance (not an "instruction-follower" but a "free-thinker")
· Strong understanding of network theory and why it is
helpful
· Strong understanding of packet flow through
switches, routers, firewalls, load-balancers and proxies
· Ability to troubleshoot with a common sense thought
process based on network theory
· Experience with EIGRP and BGP (route redistribution
and filtering specifically)
· Experience configuring ASAs from CLI and ASDM
without the help of a wizard (active-active HA, multi-context, IPSec VPNs,
8.2/8.4+ NAT)
· Experience troubleshooting applications through
firewalls (Packet captures, packet-tracers, service policies, rpfs)
· Experience configuring/troubleshooting complex IPSec
VPNs (PFS, reverse-route, inbound/outbound NATs on 8.2/8.4+)
· Experience with common network security practices as
they relate to PCI DSS
· Interpreting and addressing vulnerabilities
(proxyarp, DAI, ip spoofing, dhcp snooping, segmentation, etc)
· Experience with Cisco Security Manager (4.7+
preferred)
· Proficient in analyzing packet captures and knowing
exactly what to look for
· Familiarity with ASA CX modules and FirePower series
· Familiarity with Cisco Identity Services engine
· Familiarity with Cisco TrustSec Model
