Rate: market Length: 6+ month J2ee/Process Server Engineer Locals only please Candidate requires minimal supervision and is relatively autonomous in all aspects of assigned work. May supervise lower level architects acting as a team lead or checking others' work. May be responsible for training new team members. Typically reports to a department manager or project manager. Provides architectural guidance to various projects in the organization. The position will identify, evaluate and recommend technical solutions within and across systems. The architect must also be able to design solutions within the context of the available infrastructure, taking into account scalability, availability, reliability, stability, security and performance The following are a list of overall skills desired to work with the client's Architecture and Shared Service existing and future Stakeholders: Strong IBM WebSphere Process Server 6.x (WPS) installation, configuration, Administration and support skills Set up Websphere Process Server environment in development, Integration, Test environment and assist in the Stage and production. Experience with Service integration, Business Process Management and Business Process Execution Language Ability to work in a team environment, self direct where necessary, work independently and communicate well • Should be able to or have previous knowledge of migrating J2EE application from WebLogic to WebSphere container. • Provide information needed to assess the risk of production deployment of a business critical application: installation and configuration readiness, performance and scalability evaluation, stability and durability evaluation, and best practices procedures. • Assess the processes that will be used to operate, support and maintain the Enterprise implementation(s). Refine the deployment process and architecture so that it will easily scale to fit into an enterprise scope. • Needs to be extensible to changing platform requirements or other advancements in the distributed computing model. • Assist in determining Service Level Agreements (SLA’s), for immediate needs/deployments, and enterprise SLA’s to support ongoing operations, if any. • Develop performance, scalability, and durability evaluations and monitoring for load testing and real time. • Create real time performance, profiling, and monitoring components to be utilized during load testing and for real time monitoring of all stages of application deployment (Dev, Test, Staging, Prod). • Design an automated deployment strategy that can be leveraged despite originating development environment (WebSphere, etc). • Also consider unified deployment of utilities needed by WebSphere Shared Services projects — Oracle Client, DB2Client, MQClient. • J2EE container Enterprise Planning, Analysis and Implementation. ENTERPRISE — not just for one project, but MANY that run the spectrum. • Experience with WebSphere Administration and Monitoring. • Experience configuring and administering unique deployments of custom applications for any J2EE container. • Advanced WebLogic and WebSphere performance and tuning experience including development of custom tools. (Java MBeans Extentions) • Experience implementing tools that are extensions to WebLogic & WebSphere such as monitoring tools, code profiling tools, etc. • Experience designing & implementing Clusters, WebSphere Network Deployment and Deployment Manger along with Directory authentication. Expertise in Web layer: • Experience in iPlanet and IBM HTTP Server (Apache) is required. • Prior knowledge of Proxy Plugin based configuration for both iPlanet and IBM HTTP server is desired. • Knowledge of any Hardware based load balancer is a plus.
