This position will implement database solutions for a medical services
system serving multiple clients and quality assurance environments.
Responsible for maintaining databases, optimizing performance, and managing
system resources, database security, and data protection.


*Responsibilities:*

   - Support multiple database environments containing thousands of
   database objects.
   - Install, configure, upgrade and patch Microsoft® SQL Server® on
   standalone or cluster production boxes for a financial services system.
   - Perform database population, synchronization, backup/recovery,
   monitoring, and performance tuning.
   - Configure, schedule, and implement database maintenance jobs (database
   backup, integrity check, DBCC, re-index, etc.).
   - Prepare and maintain database operational procedure documentation.
   - Develop and define security procedures and administrative controls,
   monitor user access to databases, and maintain database security.
   - Plan and execute major and minor database upgrades to the enterprise
   application.
   - Allocate systems storage and develop plans for future resource
   requirements for the database system.
   - Evaluate and assess the database technologies and new features to
   determine validity for our software and environment.
   - Create work break-down structures and estimates for complex database
   processes. Must have the ability to confirm the estimates of other DBAs.
   - Create required documentation for database projects.
   - Work closely with a cross-functional project team(s) throughout all
   phases of the SDLC.
   - Work with QA and Client Support to resolve high-severity client issues.
   - Provide on-call support on a scheduled basis
   - Mentor DBAs and Software Engineers, including, but not limited to:
   - Assisting in troubleshooting complex issues.
   - Providing guidance on expected coding and documentation standards.
   - Walking through company's processes and procedures.
   - Performing high-level SQL code reviews and provides feedback.
   - Perform complex coding in SQL tuning and utilities.
   - Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize the performance of databases.
   Including preparation of periodical metrics.
   - Prototype solutions using state-of-the-art technologies and evaluate
   for efficiency and ease of programming.
   - Gain in-depth knowledge of several proprietary software modules,
   Database Architecture and overall Architecture.

*Qualifications:*

   - Expert knowledge in MS SQL database administration as demonstrated by
   no less than 5 years’ experience working as a senior or lead MS SQL
   Database Administrator
   - Highly skilled in MS SQL, including reading/tuning query plans and
   writing triggers, stored procedures, functions, experience implementing
   Data partitioning strategies
   - Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in
   Information Systems, Information Technology, or related field or equivalent
   experience
   - Prior experience with SAN Technologies
   - Excellent written and oral communication skills
   - Good interpersonal skills; effective team player
   - Exceptional customer service skills
   - Ability to prioritize work load and consistently meet deadlines
   - Strong organizational skills; attention to detail
   - Works well under pressure
   - Ability to interact with all levels of management

   - MCSE: Data Platform certification
   - VMWARE experience
   - SQL Reporting Services(SSRS) configuration experience
