• Support for all Wintel and Midrange servers in the enterprise

• Participating in disaster recovery tests and planning

• Partnering with peers and management to make informed
strategic/big-picture decisions

• Designing, recommending, and deploying emerging server technologies

• Providing support operations of multi-site, multi-vendor environments

• Performing standard administration responsibilities including: o
Monitoring and providing break/fix support to servers across the
enterprise. o Architecting system configurations to match application and
BCP availability and recovery requirements. o Analyzing system logs and
identifying potential issues with computer systems. o Champion introducing
and integrating new technologies into existing data center environments. o
Performing routine audits of systems and software. o Applying operating
system updates, patches, and configuration changes installing and
configuring new hardware and software. o Adding, removing, or updating file
shares. o Answering technical queries from other IT support teams (DBA’s,
app development, networking, etc.) o Responsibility for security including
advanced hardening techniques as appropriate for secure DMZ areas. . o
Responsibility for documenting the configuration of systems. o
Troubleshooting any reported problems. o Advanced system performance
tuning. o Responding to and resolving service outages and interruptions.

• Contributes to the design and support of enterprise server systems
including but not limited to technical architecture, stability, and
platforms.

• Responsible for supporting Microsoft Directory Services, server hardware
architecture and high availability (server and application) design,

• Ability to integrate monitoring and configuration services as
appropriate, self-teaching advance skills as required (SCCM and SCOM).

• As needed, contribute to the design, implementation and maintenance of: o
Unix and Wintel Servers o Enterprise active directory (Windows), DHCP, DNS
(external and internal), Certificate Services, FTP Services, MOSS, and
various other MS software solutions.

• Participate in the assessment and optimization of the server systems,
through systems monitoring, statistics, and daily health checks. Work with
management to ensure accurate reporting KPIs and trends for all facets of
the environment.

• Working with management, coordinates service calls and schedules
appointments with software vendor and consultants to ensure satisfactory
resolution of problems and malfunctions.

• Maintains accurate and comprehensive documentation diagrams of the
enterprise server infrastructure and communications flow and routing.

• Research, evaluate, and recommend new tools and technologies for server
administration. • Identify storage and server trends and abnormalities and
proactively take steps to prevent performance impacts to network traffic
and business function.

• Perform pro-active support functions and reporting to maintain the
integrity of the enterprise equipment and infrastructure.

• Support and contribute in developing and maintaining 3 year strategic
plan, to mitigate risks, address organizational deficiencies, and
facilitate new requirements, technologies and growth.

• Analyze, determine, and document technical requirements.

• Communicate accurate and useful status reports to management on a timely
basis.

• Anticipate issues and proactively resolve them.

• Prepare contingencies, scenarios, scenario plans and action items to
resolve issues.

• Identify and initiate continuous improvements.

• Instill commitment to quality, customer service, ownership, and teamwork.

• Build strong customer relationships. Promote internal/external customer
service among organization.

• Maintain awareness of new technological developments in industry and
processes - implement concepts appropriately.

• Key contributor in the research, planning and implementation of server
projects in accordance with and support of business needs goals and
objectives.

• Work with ticket queue to track support issues.

• Assist team members to solve problems, make innovative improvements and
make decisions.

• Mentor and motivate junior members of technical support teams. • Make
decisions that reflect the best interest of the company

. • Available to provide afterhours support.

• Be willing and available to travel as required.

• Be willing and available for on-call support

. • Other duties as assigned.
