Using a variety of computing tools (e.g. Hadoop, H20, Hive, Pig Latin, Apache Spark, R Statistics Language, Predixion, Elastisearch, KNIME, Rapidminer, SQL, Excel,and/or other data mining tools), develop and maintain algorithms to predict patterns in claims payment data. Perform adhoc analyses that will vary in duration and complexity - it will be expected that the candidate can balance multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of quality. This position has the responsibility to participate and/or lead in defining the issues to be studied as well as the methodology to be used in addressing these issues. Essential Functions: · Utilize Machine Learning and supervised and unsupervised learning algorithms · Participate in defining issues to be studied as well as the methodology to be used in addressing these issues. · Develop algorithms to determine predictive patterns within the data. · Perform exploratory data analysis and data mining of healthcare claims and authorizations data. · Design, document, develop and deliver analyses of claims data using a variety of computing tools (e.g. Hadoop, H20, Apache Spark, R Statistics Language, Predixion, Elastisearch, KNIME, Rapidminer, SQL, Excel and/or other data mining tools) in a Data Lake Environment. · Lead development and presentation of compelling, validated stories to all levels of organization, including peers, senior management and internal customers to drive both strategic and operational changes in business · Perform adhoc analyses that will vary in duration and complexity. · Provides status reports that give a detailed description of the current project’s progress and indicates time devoted to each task of the project. · Coordinates/mentors analytic efforts performed by in- house staff or outside consultants to ensure that all work is completed according to the project plan. Requirements/Certifications: · Required-5-8 years’ experience conducting research and developing survey and measurement tools, transact-SQL (MS SQL or Oracle) and Hadoop experience · Experience in data research, data based design and sampling methodologies. Demonstrated ability to identify issues and propose methodological solutions. Synthesizes analyses well, highlighting implications of findings. Demonstrated ability to conduct and interpret quantitative/qualitative analysis. Must demonstrate effective communication skills: consulting, interpersonal, and presentation. · Must be proficient in using any three of the following tools: Hadoop, H20, Apache Spark, R Statistics Language, Predixion, Elastisearch, KNIME, Rapidminer. Proficient in the use of the latest innovations in computing tools, Predictive Analytics, and Proprietary or Open Source Statistical Analysis. Proficiency with basic querying capabilities using ANSI SQL for relational database read only querying purposes. · Experience working with normalized and denormalized data structures; experience with Hadoop, H20, Hive, Pig Latin, Apache Spark, R Statistics Language, Predixion, Elastisearch, KNIME, Rapidminer, SQL, Excel and/or other data mining tools. Demonstrated competency in developing efficient and effective solutions to complex business problems. Experience with healthcare medical and pharmacy claims data manipulation and analysis. · Master’s degree in technical or analytic field (e.g. computer science, statistics); Understanding of CPT and ICD-10 codes preferred; strong oral and written communication skills; and interest in healthcare and a passion to make a difference; effective listening and communication skills; ability to work under tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.
