The existing application exists on Delphi/Sybase platform; the strategic platform is Java/Oracle, and the application developer will be expected to assist and drive the re-engineering effort whilst meeting substantial and critical requirements on the existing platform, often subject to very demanding time constraints. The application developer will report to and receive direction from the IT project manager but will be expected to work largely unsupervised on a day to day basis and must therefore be possessed of sufficient presence and gravitas to enable productive interaction with high activity business colleagues. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES •Work closely with business users to assess and analyse requirements and propose timely solutions for same. •Develop agreed solutions using established technology framework •Ensure solutions are adequately structured and documented to enable integration or migration to strategic technology model •Assist and drive project to re-engineer to strategic technology model. •Participate in global and local technical initiatives •Comply with all group and local procedures & strategies TECHNICAL EXPERTISE Programming Languages: Delphi, Java 1.5 Environment: .NET, XML, HTML, CSS, ASP, VSS WebService: Apache Axis Scripting languages: JavaScript, Autosys, Shell scripting Databases: Sybase 12, Oracle 11G Web Servers: IIS.
