Role: Business Intelligence Analyst Duration: About 24 months Location: Brooklyn, NY Only Local Candidates with GC/EAD-GC/USC JOB DESCRIPTION: The primary responsibility of Business Intelligence Analyst will be to provide assistance to the Business Intelligence Manager – supporting the overall BI strategy and implementing tactical BI solutions for the Office of School Support Services. The Analyst will participate in proposing, designing, and implementing BI solutions following the best practices of BI architecture, standards, methodology and tools used. He/she will be expected to liaise with senior client executives, provide in-depth technical needs analysis and advise operational teams on BI solutions. The analyst will support the BI Manager to help implement BI solutions and recommendations which are seen as leading edge in the industry. She/he will take responsibility to ensure things like strategy alignment, BI process development and implementations, and BI metrics refinement. The role would involve supporting vendor implementations in various systems and solutions from multiple vendors and NYC Agencies to support continuing BI strategy rollout. REQUIREMENTS: • Experience designing informational reports (including charts, tables and maps) and/or presentations • Experience with industry standard BI and visualization tools • Experience working with physical and logical data models • Fundamental understanding of data modeling concepts • 2+ years of experience in information systems operations or support PREFERRED SKILLS: • Experience in data analysis focusing on the Food industry • Understands BI Implementation services and is able to assist the BI manager in defining the scope of work and effort estimates to implement BI solutions • As a Business Intelligence Team member, conducts workshops to influence and scope POC criteria and co-lead teams to conduct POCs • Designs and documents BI solutions and executes the tactical BI deliverables such as reports, dashboards and models • Identify technical and operational risks early and provide mitigation plans and strategies to address the risks • Articulate clearly the benefits of BI and partners with DW team to communicate externally and internally across the organization (including senior decision-makers and key influencers) the advantages of DW and BI • Assist in preparing responses to Requests for Proposal (RFPs) and Requests for Information (RFIs) • Experience using ArcGIS, Microsoft Power BI and Tableau to create presentation quality information materials • Understands, documents, and/or creates the Logical and Physical BI architecture at the direction of the BI manager.
