*Please send resume to [email protected]* * * *Job Title: Linux/VMWare System Administrator*** *Rate: **$50-55/HR** * *Duration: 6 Months* *Location: Boston, MA* * * *JOB PURPOSE* Linux/UNIX/VMWare system administration, maintenance & ongoing day-to-day operations support including installation, configuration, upgrade, patching, troubleshooting, performance tuning, backup and recovery. This position is based in Cambridge Corporate headquarters supporting Cambridge site. MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES The ideal candidate will have experience in: Capable of planning and manage all aspects of VMWare enterprise environment that may include the following products: VMWare vSphere VMWare vCenter VMWare vMotion VMWare converter VMWare ESX 4.x VMWare Lab Manager VMware Infrastructure design involving large scale deployments Capacity planning a Virtual Infrastructure. Virtualized Backup and Recovery In-depth knowledge of UNIX/Linux installation, configuration, upgrades, performance tuning, capacity planning, back ups and recoveries Strong understanding of Linux RHEL. Solid understanding of Network infrastructure (LAN/WAN/TCPIP) Working Knowledge of ISCSI and Fiber channel Working Knowledge of SAN replication Experience with monitoring systems Experience with configuration management services Good technical, problem solving, and communication skills. Positive customer service attitude Possess the ability to provide high quality documentation Business Continuity planning Exposure to WAN compression devices. Support scientific groups as a consultant and solutions architect for mid to enterprise-scale Linux scientific application deployments Interface with Windows and Storage engineering teams Able to develop, research, and persuasively present technical strategies and options to senior IT managers and scientific customer groups.
