*Job Title: **Senior * O*racle DBA* *Location: Minneapolis, MN* *Duration: 6 months contract* Senior Oracle DBA *Job Description:-* Provides Oracle Database Administration (DBA) services in order to maintain and tune applications within the Commerce Business System environment. The services include, but are not limited to identifying the problem in the database, providing solutions to the problems, providing needed documentation, tuning the database instances and other activities associated with the database administration aspects of supporting Census Bureau and Edite applications. The position is to support and build an automated environment infrastructure. This includes but is not limited to developing automated scripts to clone and create new databases, automating the dropping of databases, establishing and documenting Processes and procedure to support this environment. As a database administrator, you will: ·Experience in Oracle 11g to 12c Migration experience ·Experience in 11g & 12c RAC implementation, configuration and maintenance ·Experience in Oracle RMAN, Oracle DataPump, Oracle DR, Duplication, COOP Environments ·Experience in Shell Scripting and SQL ·Experience in Performance tuning & Query/Database optimization ·Provide technical direction for database design, maintenance, and administration. ·Evaluate and recommends available DBMS products after matching user requirements with system capabilities. ·Develop and formulates standards, procedures, and conventions for database use. ·Determine file organization, indexing methods and security procedures for specific user applications. ·Perform software installation/administration/configuration/migration of multiple versions of Oracle enterprise databases and Oracle application (web) servers on variety of platforms ·Design the system requirements/specifications for the planned solutions. ·Ensure full understanding of requirements and get involved from analysis phase to deployment phase of each project with thorough follow-up. ·Implement high available solutions along with Cross platform database migrations ·Maintain secure database and software environment by deploying patches, implementing database auditing as part of security measures. Implement CIS bench marking standards. ·Proactively improve existing database infrastructure and reporting mechanisms. ·Implement database performance reporting mechanism, database auditing along with automated notifications. ·Analyze the application performance and recommends changes to improve performance such as schema denormalization, recommend code changes etc., ·Implement sound database backup and recovery practices. ·Work with Oracle support at times when the issue needs more in-depth troubleshooting. ·Perform Oracle database tuning using a variety of tools and techniques. ·Perform and support Disaster Recovery (DR) testing Overall, the position requires demonstrated expertise in the use of database management systems and related products from vendors such as Oracle. The Position relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. This position requires 6+ years of specialized experience, which demonstrates knowledge of system analysis and development and maintenance of Database (DBMS) systems.
