*Job Title: GPMS Test Lead- SAP*
*Location: HOUSTON,TX*
*Duration: 6+ Months*

*Additional Notes-* Location can be Chicago too !!

*Job Description -*
- Testing strategy. The person should have completed diverse testing
strategies using SAP. The resource may have performed this function as a
project manager. This involves comprehensive big picture understanding of
global SAP programmes. My preference is for someone who understand s more
than testing. 10 years ago project management roles were more broadly
defined CVs are not always what they should be and this person should have
more than 10 years. Size and shape of your programme is an important
consideration (Big Bang, global, beta Software, SAP industry solution,
professional services.).

- Client facing clients communications. Good indicators are length of
engagement and spread of clients. Often groups of strong resources migrate
from one account to the next. This can be reinforced with independent
reference checking (my favourite tool). The writing on the CV can be an
indicator but sometimes shoemakers don't have great shoes. Usually asking a
3 step question on the phone helps. If their track record is solid you know
these skills are going to be good. These are a mixed bag of reqs but key
for reducing risk of resource failure.

- SAP technical experience / understanding. In this project the technology
is particularly challenging. Having someone who comprehensively understands
the technology will help with risk mitigation at a practical detailed
level. Asking for specific examples makes a good interview question. Nobody
knows everything but some kind of technical grounding is way better than
none. Some 'Test Managers' assume an administrative role rather than an
active engagement role and technology background reduces the risk of
getting one of those people.

- Quality Centre expert level skills. The person should have previously set
up fit for purpose testing hands on from scratch. This is the tricky part.
Often the people with the first 3 bullets never become hands on QC experts
because they have a QC expert working for them. This does limit the number
of qualified candidates which is a consideration. My preference is one
person for everything initially and backfill the skills with internal
resources. QC is quite user friendly and teachable during the course of a
project. Also, QC is a tool and set of skills you can use across the
organization and it's powerful. The QC expert should be able to set up the
entire test plan after setting the strategy. Also, they need to be able to
produce and customize the reporting. Be careful here because if the
resource only worked with on e company or one client they may have not have
the experience figuring out the tool because they only ever set it up and
reported on it using one set of processes. The plan proposed by Fulcrum is
different and challenging so we want someone who can design / set up QC fit
to purpose.
